Do Not Call List

I'd really like to know what happened to the wonderful "Do Not Call" list?  I have added my phone number (house & cell) to the list and even reported sales & telemarketing calls.  For the past month I have received at least 10 nonsense calls every day, even Sundays!  I am fed up!!  I have been hesitant to get rid of the home phone because I have that need to keep a Land Line, just in case!!
Today, I made the decision to break free from the old fashioned Land Line!  This means we will have to get my son a cell phone sooner than planned, but I am sure it will be worth it!!  These calls are now coming from private numbers, so I can't report the number.  They call from 8:00am until after 9:00pm, yes, even on Sundays.  I am getting calls asking me to consolidate my debt (I don't really have enough to consolidate), make an appointment for a "New Window" quote (I have all new windows & my husband is a General Contractor), have my A/C unit checked (it's fairly new).  One company wanted to give me **FREE** solar panels, yeah probably the 1st one or two and after that they cost a fortune to have put on and one or two won't do a thing!
I understand that businesses need business, but calling me all day everyday is ridiculous!  My phone rings all day long and I get maybe 1 call from someone I actually know!!  And, most of them are recorded messages!
So, the "Do Not Call" list has become worthless and since the phone company has informed me that they can't really help me I, guess they will be losing a lot of business to the Cell Phone Companies!
